The Myth Of Daedalus and Icarus
Daedalus was an exceptionally skilled inventor and craftsman renowned by many for creating lifelike sculptures and fascinating inventions. He soon came to have a son named Icarus. Minos, craving power, imprisoned Daedalus and Icarus in a tower in order to use Daedulus's skills to further his empire. To escape, Daedalus crafted wings from feathers and wax for him and Icarus to fly to freedom with. Daedalus warned Icarus against flying too close to the sun or sea, due to the sun melting the wax and the water wetting the feathers. The warnings given fell on the deaf ears of Icarus. Drunk by the thrill of freedom, he flew higher and higher, causing his wings to disintegrate, leading him to fall into the sea and drown. Daedalus lived with the help of his advice but was overcome with grief due to his son's hubris and arrogance, leading to the tragic fall of Icarus.
