Proverbs to Implement

Icarus and Daedalus paint a picture of hubris and the importance of respect and humility. Icarus's overcome with the thrill of freedom, arrogance, and excessive pride led to his ultimate downfall. His disregard for the stressed warnings of Deadulus and the result that is shown symbolize the dire consequences of disregarding wisdom and experience. As well as Icarus' demise, the opposite can be seen through Daedalus. He demonstrates the importance of humility and consideration through his control and self-restraint. He symbolizes the importance of moderation and the balance between ambition and caution in the pursuit of one's goal. Ultimately, Icarus's death shows the reader the downfalls of hubris, while Daedalus shows the restraint and self-control needed to succeed.
